These Refined Sugar Free Rice Crispy Treats are perfect for packing in lunches, enjoying after school, or as a quick pick-me-up mid-afternoon. My kids love having a few yummy treats around the house, and if I’m being honest with myself, I do too. Cutting out sugar has been a serious challenge for all of us. I know I’ve definitely had a few slip-ups as I’ve gone along, but overall, we’ve been making some great progress. Cutting refined sugar out of your diet doesn’t mean missing out on the fun, though.
You’d never miss the sugar in these sugar free rice crispy treats. They still taste amazing and kids love them. I love that you can make these ahead of time and have them on hand for a quick snack and they are great on-the-go.
One of the things I worried about when I first gave up sugar was what I was going to be able to snack on. Cut fruits and veggies are great, but sometimes you want something that’s a bit of a treat.
These sugar-free rice crispy treats do that for me and they are great when I need something sweet, but still mostly guilt-free.
Refined Sugar Free Rice Crispy Treats Ingredients
- 4 Cup Rice Cereal – Use brown rice cereal for a healthier option. We like getting it here or using this option to save some money.
- 1/2 Cup Honey
- 3/4 Cup sugar-free peanut butter

In a small pot, combine the honey and peanut butter. Heat on med-high, stir constantly until the mixture begins to melt and becomes smooth.
Pour over the top of your rice cereal and gently stir to combine.
Press down into a baking dish. Place in the fridge to set for several hours then slice and serve (you can serve these right away but they don’t hold together as well).
We love putting these in school lunches, taking hiking, or just having them out so anyone can grab a quick snack.
As you can see, there are no complaints about this around my house . . .
