3-Ingredient Banana Pancakes
I’m so glad you stopped by!
You are probably here because you are looking for a sugar-free breakfast idea. These 3-ingredient pancakes are just what you need!
Most breakfast options are LOADED with sugar. That’s a terrible way to start your day!
Even if you aren’t going completely sugar-free, a sugary breakfast sets up for a sugar crash by late morning.
Banana pancakes are one of my favorites but most pancake mixes include sugar and they are not very nutrient-dense.
These pancakes are completely guilt-free! They are packed with protein and they are dairy-free, gluten-free and sugar-free! You could even make them completely grain-free with one minor adjustment.
Don’t eat oats? No worries. Check out our 3-Ingredient Protein Pancakes.
Ingredients
I usually triple this for my family but these measurements are a great place to start. Feel free to adjust the quantity to fit what you need.
- 1 Banana
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 cup of oatmeal – If you would like to make these gluten-free, be sure you are using a gluten-free oatmeal.
Note: Want to make these grain-free? Check out our 3-Ingredient Protein Pancakes. You can also just leave out the oatmeal and these still turn out awesome. The only difference is they are a bit trickier to cook. Without the oats, you get a much thinner pancake and they tear easily so you have to be careful of that when you are cooking.
Banana Pancake Instructions
Put all ingredients into your blender and blend well for 15-20 seconds.
I am in love with my Blendtec for this. It gets everything so smooth and makes breakfast super simple. They are a bit pricey, but I promise it’s totally worth it. You can get a great deal on refurbished blenders directly from Blendtec too.
Cook your pancakes on a griddle heated to medium-high, cooking from for about 2-3 minutes on each side.
Serve with real maple syrup, peanut butter, or your favorite sugar-free jam!
Thanks for the recipe! My 10 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with high cholesterol and I’m hoping cutting out some of the sugary processed food helps (she’s skinny and doesn’t eat much meat so I’m a bit perplexed).
Is the oatmeal cooked first?? If not, should it be old fashion oats or quick cook?
Thanks!
I used the old fashion oats and it turned out great but it only makes 4 pancakes
I would guess not.
As an Australian reading your email am unsure what is meant by oatmeal. Do you mean rolled oats?
Love the sound of this healthy health version and would appreciate your response. Mazza b
Yes it is rolled oats
Would love to try them, but like others who have commented would like to know if the oatmeal is cooked first? Also, what kind of oats should be used, rolled steel cut, old fashion or quick cook? I would love to try th
No, not cooked. I make oatmeal smoothies in my Vitamix. Smooth as silk so I’m sure eggs and banana will make the perfect batter. I’m going to try this with sugar free syrup.
I was wondering What type of oat meal and do you cook it first or put it in dry? Thanks
Thanks for the idea. Hope my daughter loves it! 🙂
I’m assuming its a 1/2 cup cooked oatmeal
this is nice, i will diffenately make it at home
Does this recipe make 4 pancakes? You said serves 4….IS this 4 people or pancakes? thanks for your help.
How can it be sugar free when a medium banana has 3 tsp of sugar?
All fruit has natural sugar-fructose. She is talking about added sucrose.

Thanks for the recipe! Can you use quick oats or do you have to use the regular kind.
I’m confused. The picture shows sliced bananas, but the instructions says blend all ingredients. What is the correct way to prepare the batter?
You would follow the directions to blend all, and add some extra slices on top of desired. 🙂
The bananas on the plate are for a photo shoot.
Do you use quick oats or old fashioned rolled oats? Thanks, can’t wait to try!
Is the oatmeal cooked first or put in raw? Sorry I don’t cook much but I like to try new recipes ☺
Do you think it would be possible to substitute cooked quinoa for the oatmeal? Thanks.
Fantastic, thank you! Is it okay to use mangos instead of bananas
You could certainly try it. That sounds amazing. I’ve tried it with avocados before and that worked out alright.
easy, so I’ll make again and again and eat them lots of times
I just made these and I have to say I did not expect them to look or taste like pancakes. their texture is just like regular pancakes and they taste like a banana. I just put a little butter instead of syrup because my syrup has too much sugar. I think I will add a few blueberries next time. I think they are amazing!
Did you cook the oatmeal first? I’m under the assumption it’s cooked oatmeal, but I’m a dunce when it comes to cooking, lol. I came to the comments looking for an answer, but couldn’t find one.
You don’t cook the oatmeal first. It grinds into a flour.
AWESOME RECIPE !! SOVEASY AND QUICK. JUST THE PANCAKE RECIPE I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!! MY HUSBAND LIKES IT BETTER THAN REGULAR PANCAKES.
They can’t be sugar-free with a whole banana in them. A whole banana would run my sugar through the roof.
Made these this morning. I used 1/2c old fashioned oats (uncooked) and blended everything together in my nutribullet. Then I added blueberries too. Delicious!!!
I’m going to try it with just egg whites or egg beaters and see how it turns out. I have high cholesterol, also.
They were quick, easy and taste delicious. I used two tablespoons of syrup, so that was my added sugar.
They were delicious and quick to make. I’ve doubled the recipe and put them in the freezer.
